and I find one of the top things that 'ladies' like in a fellow is 
'you're really funny, you make me laugh.'

if you get her to laugh, you have touched her, but in a nice way.

especially your witticisms: an email that's empty except for a 
self-referential joke may not tickle her unless she likes geeky (or
