Boot from the CD and select maintenance console rather than an install.  Go to a cmd prompt 
and look at x:\var\log

I tried that and from the hard disk partition got a not found.  From the CD #1 got the following response:
WPTOOLS.DLL Unable to read base Classes in GetBaseClasses.  Regards, Ira Saxe
