Try installing with just TCP/IP and no filesharing.  Also see if /var/log shows any interesting files.

Julian, I installed only TCP/IP and not the other options. I found no way to enter /var/log during the installation.  The result was the same; it stopped with no indication as to why.  Regards, Ira Saxe
