YESSSSS!  Temporarily changing this machine's address,
changing the router's address and changing this one's back
I'm transmitting courtesy of the D-Link router.  

Sigh, good-bye to Daryl, my trusty firewall/router/common
drive (between the XP machine on the network and eCS here)
of over nine years and hello to some more desk space.

Thank you all, particularly Bob from whom I got the
reassurance that what I intended to do would work.

And with at least 15 minutes to spare.
