Finally getting around to installing the router I bought
ages ago, a D-Link 655.

It has wireless but we prefer wired connections so no
problem there.

System now has firewall/router computer eCS 1.2R
192.168.1.1, new router has 192.168.0.1.  If all I do is
change the router's address, will the system work as it
does now?  Currently has this eCS 2.0RC5 system and a WinXP
system or two on the network.  Considering adding a Mac but
that's next month <G>.

What's WINS and would I need to deal with that?  And is
there any advantage to using the route as a DHCP server
rather than sticking with our IP addresses?  I haven't
looked into the firewall aspects so this question might be
premature.

What other info would you like to be able to answer my
question?
