Hi Brian,

As long as you know how it goes back together, it should not be an issue. I took apart my wife's A30p and repainted it in a high gloss finish. This took a lot of time between coats and color sanding and polishing. I found some decoritive plastic gems at the hobby shop and hotglued them over the IBM logo. A RAM upgrade didn't hurt either. ;)

Sincerely,
James Cannon

Anyone out there every had to replace or do any repairs on the lid latches of a T30?
Both latches on mine have been broken and on one the slide mechanism has been pushed
out of its slot.  The local shop wants $60 to first look at it and they estimate it will take up to
2 hours to fix ($180).  I don't care if the latches can't be replaced, I just want to get the slide
back in place.  What I'm trying to avoid is having to actually remove the screen.
