Dear Thomas,

You are obviously a prudent shopper! In my case, however, the situation
is that my wife will mostly use the laptop (the one she was using needs
replacement), and she will be working in Windows XP. The eCS
compatibility is in case I want to use eCS on the laptop, but I can wait
for eCS 2 or an even later version, when ACPI and other issues are
resolved. My wife needs the laptop soon for her work, and so I am forced
to act quickly. Fortunately I have received good advice especially on
the eCS-tech list, and feel reasonably confident about making a good choice.

Best wishes,
Arthur
