[Discussion] How to delete a nameless file?

I know how to remove a difficult to delete file like "WP ROOT. SF", but
I don't know how to delete a file that shows only a period "."  This
file is the only one in a subdirectory that I also cannot delete for
obvious reason.  I have XtreeGold, ZTreeBold, File Star, FM/2 and who
knows what but none of them can delete the directory or the file (file
size 1,848).  Is there any utility that can do the job?  

The reason I need to do this because I am trying to copy thousands of
files over 100+GB from one drive to another with XCOPY and about half
way through XCOPY crashed when it reached this file.
