Probably no help... but...

Are you sure the file name does not consist of illegal characters, or worse, a reserved name.  

I did read that you could only use the command line, but for grins...

Years ago I was told to graphically create a folder, and drop the offending file into it, then delete the folder.

I did have a file that got named com2 and I could *never* get rid of it, until I moved everything off the drive
and reformat.
