Hi Bill,
Although my main PC is a dual-boot Win XP and eCS, I do run OS/2 Warp 4 in Microsoft Virtual PC in Win XP. Microsoft Virtual PC runs OS/2 Warp 4 great and is convenient so that I don't have to reboot. I have a ton of OS/2 software I'm not ready to give up. I only wish that there is a way to run OS/2 1.2 in a virtual environment, where I could run IBM DisplayWrite 4 or Microsoft Word for OS/2.
I was never able to get Virtual Box to run OS/2 or eCS and would be interested in hearing tips from other POSSI members. My trusty OS/2 Warp 3 machine hasn't been turned on in awhile as I need a full-size AT power supply (looks like a big metal L).
I am using OpenSUSE 11.0 on my T30, however, I have only been able to get VMWare to work with it, but VMWare doesn't like OS/2. Hints anyone??
As to virtual machines, so far I've only had luck with Microsoft Virtual PC, which runs OS/2 2.1, Warp 3, and Warp 4.
I've always liked Macs, but have too much money invested in PC hardware. So far, Linux seems to be my favorite ... just hope eCS 2 comes out soon.
Sincerely,
James Cannon
