I have been very quiet about my MAC experience to date. That is
because I have been doing and learning. When I bought my MAC I went
whole hog and signed up for their "onetoone" training. You schedule
an hour to spend with one of their experts and discuss various ( or a
particular ) subject(s). This is an hour of hands on training as
intense as you want. You can do this once a week for a year. It is
good training, especially if you are dealing with something MAC like
iphoto.

I have discovered that if you are familiar with a pc you will find
just about everything on the MAC as well. It takes a bit of poking to
find out what MAC calls it but it is probably there.

Now for the truly strange thing. I have a couple of apps that are
Wombat only so I installed Fusion so that I could run Wombat. Well
Wombat runs better on my MAC than on a dedicated Wombat machine. I
make a point of not accessing the internet while in Wombat.

My CAD program was a Wombat program and I had a chance to upgrade for
cheap recently so I did. Since I need to learn 3D I bought their
training package as well. For the last few days I have been doing 2D
training. I needed an authorization code for the new install and it
was sent in an email. I put it in the clipboard on the MAC side and
opened up Wombat and the CAD program and tried to paste into the
appropriate spot. It worked! I checked on my printers, Installed on
the MAC. They are there in Wombat and they work.

So far my experience has been more than I could have wished for. A
clean, quick system that does everything I want. Leopard has a
feature called time machine. You attach an external disk and it
automatically backs up the system at frequent intervals. I don't know
whether it use incremental or differential backup but you can go way
back. The best part is that no matter how lazy you are you don't have
to worry.

Yes, MAC costs more but for me it has been worth it.
