Under the advanced install options, did you find the Install from USB CD
device?
Not sure if it will help... I looked up the eeepc installs they were
done by copying the CD to the Harddrive.
One thought that comes to mind. It could be that the installer can't
take a change in the drive letter of the CDROM. If we can determine the
drive letter it has when the install starts and set the eComstation
CD-ROM located in drive: to be the same letter maybe it would continue
without loosing the drive (I would make sure the checkmark is on for
Install from USB CD device.
The other idea that was suggested is to use the network install option.
