One technique some recommend that seems to work painlessly is to do all your partitioning in 
advance with DFSee.

On a new disk this would be to make the BM partition, the eCS partitions, and the Linux partition 
plus swap partition.  On a disk that you are adding linux to, make the linux partitions w/ DFSee  
before starting the install.  Then when you install the OS will find the partition and usually 
offer to install on the correct one.
