Well Ernie you certainly have a point. I have done just that. Other than
a lot of fond memories I was only using OS/2 to surf and Relish.
I alway had to maintain a windows box as well. I never favored dual boot
and virtual pc got swallowed before it was mature.
I picked up a Mac Mini, an extra 1GB ram and VMware to run windows - all
for around CAD$1000.00
As I wrote earlier, i plugged it in and it works - everything works!
Esther had mentioned earlier that the base price of the Mac may seem
higher, but you do not have to purchase a lot of additional software.
She hit that right on. What I haven't liked about any built in software,
I have picked up pretty much as very high quality freeware. I tried
Open Office for Mac but didn't care for it. A friend told me to try
NeoOffice. It is a much smoother.

A bit of relearning the basics.

I have this mini plugged into a 32" Sharp Aquos monitor. The full screen
display is not great, it is stunning! It was stunning before I upgraded
the ram to 2 GB.

Certainly worth checking out.
