Hi Thomas,
The magazine is out of business. Not sure how much they would lose on a 15-20year old publication. The libraries do it all the time (microfiche?). I think it is ok to archive your own documents. I archive music CDs all the time and then only play the copies until the sun, dog, or kids ruin them.
