Ira,
I wish I could be of more help. I went to good old eBay and picked up a
couple of Intel based boards that were not of Dell origin and have not
had any problems with RC 5 or 6a.
I have little patience when it comes to dealing with these proprietary
BIOS and the like. Dell, like HP and Compaq use to be a leader. Then
they started building limitations into the BIOS to control their
customers ability to modify beyond their skill of their call center
support staff.
If you really want eCS, get another mainboard or a second PC completely.
That is what I have. I have a 4 port KVM switch OS/2, my Windows, work
Windows and a fourth for building or diagnostics for friends.
