I had a look at the Hobbes search you suggest, and you're right -- it really is 'sort of'.  I may try a couple of them, but I don't have much hope.


Does anybody actually use the vfat capability (Thanks for the term.  I wasn't familiar with it.) on eCS ?  All the 2GB thumb drives I have are handled that way on MAC OS X (and, I assume, Windows -- though I haven't tried that yet).  Or does everybody just accept the manufactured 8.3 file names ?  That's what I've been doing for some time now.   But I'd prefer to use what's there.
