There are OS tax programs of varying quality - I can't recommend 
specific ones. You might consider dual booting a linux of your choice, 
or even Solaris which can virtualze OS/2 and eCS with Virtual Box.

Maybe those OS tax programs would be a place to start building your own 
- perhaps the biggest advantage of OS.

PS. XP is not that much heavier than W2000 - I've run both. Can you add 
memory to the R30?
