I have a USB cable on a 13-Year-Old Dell D300 that is running OS/2
FP13. But, only old thumb drives seem to work.
Most of my work is on eCS 2.0 RC2. I've not had any problems with SDs,
xDs, Flash drives, two different FujiFilm cameras, and even a parallel
printer via a parallel-USB adapter. The only strange thing was a 6:1
Multi-Card device that would not read anything with one cable, but
worked OK with a different cable [actually, the one that came with the
device]. The cable that works is one that has some sort of a filter.
[???? - It's a 'knob' size wart-like thingy in the middle of the
cable.]
My experience is, if you have the latest drivers, and you have enough
of certain statements that match the number of actual ports, USB works
just fine.
YMMV...
