Brian,

I use FLG regularly.  I've had no such problems and I have some very
large presentations.

What release of FLG do you have?  Do you have all of the fixes that are
available for it?  I don't know if there are any specific to the
problem you are having, but often all the fixed problems are not listed
as such.
