No, MPlayer plays DVD's fine. Depending on hardware it will also play
commercial DVD's. There is also a port of smplay
(ftp.netlabs.org/pub/incoming IIRC) as a front end to MPlayer. MPlayer
is on Hobbes.
I have a DVD recorder that won't play commercial DVD's and an older DVD
reader that plays some commercial DVD's and if I use DVDDAO to rip an
ISO image from the DVD then they all play fine with MPlayer.
Note that playing commercial DVD's on OS/2 is illegal in some countries
such as the USA though I doubt that you'd ever get bothered for it.
