[Discussion] LJ 2015 Support(ed)?

Do not hesitate! Get it while you can! I have TWO of those printers!
They work quite well with eCS 2.0 RC2 and RC5 using either the USB or
the network print server.

The LJ 4000 PS driver [30.822] is working just fine. Supports auto
duplex and, so far, everything I've thrown at it. I sent print files
via my TPad T60 wireless to a wireless router that is connected to
another router that has the printer attached. My wife's desktop
system, attached to the second router with the printer attached also
uses the printer. My business partner has her printer attached via the
USB, but when I am there, I use the network attach simultaneously with
the USB active.

The printer can be configured over the LAN using a browser. [I happen
to use the latest SeaMonkey, but I can't imagine any problems with
something else.]

GO FOR IT!

Carl

PS The PCL driver works OK also, it just seems to do better with the
PS.

Subject: [Discussion] LJ 2015 Support(ed)?

Dear POSSI:

My local Staples has a HP LJ 2015DN for about $350. (That's about $150
off the usual, AFAIK. It seems to be the last in the store and THAT
seems to be WHY it is "clearance" priced.) It has Duplex (double-sided)
capability as well as USB and etherNET connections.

Question(s) is(are):

Is there Warp 4.4 or eCS 1.2 printer (driver) support?

Will the Duplex feature be supported? (Can it be made workable some
way?)

Can a connection be made to it through one, or the either, or both, of
these "ports".

In terms of connectivity, I have preference for eNet over USB (though
the latter is the coming - err, arrived - thing for peripherals). I'd
like to think eNet will be the easier way for our OS to connect to it,
but maybe not. I'm sure the eNet is a sharing solution, as well.

LASTLY, AFAIR, someone on this list had gotten one of these new(er)
style printers. Did ANYone get one of these 2015s?
IF SO, how's is it working out?

Sincerely,

Thomas Clayton
(Of course, by the time I make up my mind, it could be sold. Oh well.)
