While I hate to see any company fail, my experience with CompUSA makes
it no surprise that they are having problems.
IBM tried to use them as their Employee Sales outlet many years ago. I
think that lasted less than a year, because they could not even fill an
on-line order correctly and promptly. In that case, it was preferable
[for me, at least] to may more and be sure I would get what I wanted
and something that would work.
In recent years, I have found MicroCenter personnel more helpful and
knowledgable and even Best Buy or Office Depot [when they have a
retired IT person working there] are usually better alternatives. I
gave up on CompUSA several years ago. I guess I was not alone.
