If you happen to be of a paraniod state of mind (or at least very rational) you
may be interested to know that when you file your taxes electronically, the IRS
saves EVERYTHING.  However if you mail in paper, they onlly take a subset of
the information.  I got this at a user group several years ago from a user who
worked for the GAO - which audits the IRS ( a refreshing thought, huh?).
