I have a slightly strange situation with a 2GB Flash Drive:

The initial output of CHKDSK:
>[I:\]chkdsk

So, it is clearly a FAT16 file system.

And, if I do a DIR of the root, for some selected files, I get:
>[I:\]dir libc*

>The volume label in drive I is CRUZER2GB#1.

But, if I display the contents of the file using the eCS DRIVES icon,
it shows:

Title: libc-0_6_2-csd2.wpi
Real Name: LIBC-0_6.WPI

So, somehow, even though this is a FAT drive, it is retaining the full
name, I assume in EAs.

The thing I do not remember is, HOW did I copy this file from my HPFS
drive to the Flash Drive to have it maintain the long name? I thought
just used a COPY command, but there are any number of other options
including COPY from the DRIVES display, copy using SPF/PC
edit-Utilites, Download directly to the I-Drive [the Flash Drive
letter]... [Yes, I could experiment, but I've already spent more time
writing this than I have available. And, the response may help
others.]

Anyone have an idea? This technique could be a way to make eCS happy
with FAT16 and not have to use ZIP to retain the full name, make up a
short name temporarily, etc.

TIA,
Carl
