First I tried to send this to your address front the list
so as not to unduly expand the messages on the list but it
bounced back so back to the list:

What did I do wrong?  I ran
http://www.7cities.net/%7Emckinnis/code/iai1040.exe and
used it having
now firefox!.exe and thunderbird!.exe for default browser
and mail/news programs in the ini file (even though I use
PolarBar for mail)  but still draw a
blank when attempting to run one while the other is open.

Even after a reboot.

Just for my information (since this doesn't seem to be
doing anything for me) can I delete the
WPURLDEFAULTSETTINGS application from user.ini in its
entirety or is it a necessary app?   Probably is, I just
never noticed it.

DefaultWorkingDir and DefaultParameters are both 0000:  00 
"." and 
UnderstandingBrowser  is 0000:  3100   "1." in case that
means anything to you.
