I don't know if your MB can handle SATA, but that would be my first
choice. Otherwise, PATA will do the job, but a bit slower.
For my choice, I select Hitachi SATA because of their reliability, and
the Hitachi test utility that is free. Also, their SATA drives have both
the current power connection, and the new SATA connection, either one
will work. This is really handy if your PS does not have any sata power
plugs.
Last I checked, the sweet spot for SATA was at 320 GB for $75, just over
23 cents a GB.
