[Discussion] FFox2 and Tbird2

I recently upgraded from an old but reliable Moz 1.12.7 (I think) to the
pair of Tbird2 and FFox2, not the enhanced versions.
Tbird2 is fine, but periodically, every few days, FFox2 crashes as I
open a new site in a current window. BTW, the New Scientist site is the
worst offender on this problem. Less frequently, Tbird2 freezes while I
am in FFox2.
My eCS 1.2R is setup in a 1GB memory, multiple SCSI drive system powered
by an Athlon 2700, with adequate performance. An upgrade is planned. My
window setup is a 2x5 multiscreen in the lower left, with one Tbird2
window, and 5 FFox2 windows, with an average of more than 12 tabs open,
up to 30 in one FF window.
Two other windows are for misc use, one has my schedule and telephone
from IBMworks, one has an IBMworks spreadsheet open with over 450 lines
of data entered.
I really would like to avoid restarting FF every two days, and rebooting
about once a week when Tbird freezes. It's a PITA.
And for something completely different, does anyone have an estimate
when eCS 2.0 will go RC1?
Suggestions please.
