You mean you downloaded it/them to the SD card, moved it to
the Palm and installed from there?  Because I can't get the
700 to be recognized by my desktop (the real one, eCS); it
apparently *is* different from the earlier Palms.

I did find a package to be able to use it as a modem for
the laptop, I asked the supplier since the details showed
Windows, Mac and Linux.  The reply was it just uses the USB
port but again, eCS doesn't recognize the Palm 700 on a USB
port on the desktop so I'm not sure what's happening or how
different it is.  Just plugging it in does nothing and I've
pushed the hotsync button (on the USB cord) but I have no
idea what would happen with it trying to hotsync so I
aborted that.

Just plugged it in and a couple of times this typing
"paused"; maybe the OS was trying to figure out what had
been connected but no drive is recognized.   Sigh.  
USBMSD.ADD  has the Floppys switch set to 0 -- what if it's
set to 1, could the Palm be considered a floppy do you
think?
