I'm running with run! (thanks, it got T-Bird to run with
FF) I have flash but I have it blocked with PrefBar.  The
Innotek font engine is supposed to be installed -- how do I
know if it's running? -- and crashes *seem* to be random
though I had a few tonight at Yahoo mail/Yahoo.com that I
do remember.  And then they didn't crash at the same place
when I restarted the sessions.  There have been other times
that one page of a site will crash FF and after the second
or third retry work fine.   I'll keep better track now.

While I have you, I can't send mail (mailto:) from either
FF or T-Bird but I have no problem with newsgroups in
T-Bird, same outgoing server.
