How is the computer connected to the printer? If the connection is by an
ethernet cable, then the suggestion to configure it with a web browser by
typing into the browser the IP address of the printer is what to try. You
may have to look through several pages of configuration stuff to find what
you want.
If the printer is connected by a parallel cable to another computer, then
that computer is probably running lpd or you couldn't print to the printer
by TCP/IP. The following, which may not be relevant depending on how the
printer is connected, is from the TCP/IP Guide:
The lpd command starts the LPR server, LPD, which provides the print
spooling service.
-b BANNER.LPD
lpd
-c -b
banner
-s -f -cp codepage
Displaying lpd Help
lpd -?
Related Commands lpq lpr lprm lprmon lprportd
