[Discussion] New Daylight Savings Time Changes

Many years ago I created a DOS application (shareware was "CLOCKWORK"
and commercial was "ClockWrighT") that automatically corrects the
drifting system clock. It also adjusts for the STD/DST change, and it is
hard coded. I still use it on eCS; it works great - a couple of seconds
per month after correction. (In the Wind world it worked up to Wind 98,
after that, no go.) I will just have to stop using the automatic time
change feature. I have not touched the code in about 7 years and going
back to update it would be a chore.

Aside: I have always been of the opinion that it is stupid to do the
daylight saving time bit - there is no logical reason for it and there
are many against. Now almost the whole world has taken the same double
dose of Dumbass and washed it down with coolaid. Considering the
worldwide networking and globalization status we should take a cue from
the military and go on Zulu. (And also go metric while we are at it.)
Would it not make things a little simpler?

Regards,
Pavel
