[Discussion] eCS and other woes

Hi Don,

Sounds nice. I am running WinXP-Pro on an old T30. I
can not believe how often I need to update the
definitions for spyware/adware. My biggest problem, is
that since upgrading to IE7, almost every d at mn thing
is broke. I've uninstalled it completely, but to no
avail. Pretty much every program I try to run, fails
instantly, with a dialog to send an error report to
Microsoft ... selecting "OK" puts it in a
"non-responding" state and must be killed with Task
Manager. Telling error reporting not to send to
Microsoft ends the program. It is a catch-22
situation. Media Player, POV-Ray, and other programs
all befall this fate. In order to access the IE, I
select "Windows Update" from the Start menu. I let it
do it's thing, and then I can choose a favorite. I
discovered this by accident. I have cleaned up
everything (deinstalled, etc.) I can think of. I have
defragged, checked the file system, and even purchased
a registry cleaner (which found a ton of problems ...
but no solution). As soon as I have some time, I will
get an external USB drive to copy all the pictures and
music to do a reinstall. I can't remember OS/2 going
through that! win XP-Pro was a fresh install in the
fall of 2005.

My desktop is still running OS/2 and eCS. Too bad I
need XP-Pro for work related issues. One question I do
have ... whatever happened to SmartSuite for Windows?

Sincerly,
James Cannon
