HI Don,
| Jim,
| What FP are you running? I recall some issues with Doscall and PMWP.DLL.
| Found it! Fixpak 9 first release.
| It was a hanging issue not a collapsing one.
| Have you tried replacing PMWP.DLL with a more recent version?
I had been running FP-12 for quite some time. No I did not replace the PMWP.DLL unless it was replaced in the reinstall.
I've really screwed it up now! I went to the maintenance desktop, and did another install. When I was asked if I wanted to install
networking support, I thought it was fine and checked *NO*, so now I don't have the network available, although all the files seem
intact. I still can't boot without folding the *new* desktop.
This wasn't what I wanted. I wanted my old desktop running. I can see it, but it's now the *previous* desktop. S#%@t. I would have
never done that if I knew it would not allow me reuse my old desktop. All of the archive numbers have dissappeared, even though the
directory entries are in place.
I added another hard drive, it's F:, so I have C: and D: from the original drive, E: for CDROM, and F: for the installed ECS 1.2. It
looks good, and I can get around the building on the network, but I can't run any Win-31 graphic apps. Go figure!
ONe more thing, the boot manager for ECS must be different than Warp because now the drive reports a corrupt partition (the
bootmanager). This is an accumulation of 4 days and I'm moving files to another computer to get the task done.
Grrrrrr....
I thought I knew something about this operating system. I guess not.
