WOW!  This happened to me just a few months ago.
Do you have GammaTech Utilities running at startup?  What I discovered was that WordPro was starting from the GTU backup folder. I have it 
set for 3 generations and it was coming from  - I think - the latest one. So after my system started and I closed the WordPro documents I deleted 
all  but one of the generations.  When I restarted it worked okay.  I think it took me a couple of times doing this before it stopped completely.
