Hello,
Been busy working a lot of overtime so finally playing catch up reading
mail. Concerning EF Commander. I bought it when it first came out and
notified this list about it. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated (for
OS/2) since its initial release or maybe once. The feature I like that
really sets it apart for me is the ability to get the size of all
directories at the click of an icon. Probably if there were more sales
involved for OS/2, it might be upgraded-just guessing.
EF Commander has since branched out to the MS Windows world. Of course
there are more features. I decided to purchase the Windows version many
years back. It is continually being uprgaded and I've never been asked to
pay for the latest upgrade. The feature that I like best in the Windows
version is that I have the program on my USB flash drive. If I want to use
it on ANY Windows computer, all I have to do is plug the flash drive in the
USB port and click on the EF Commander icon. It gives me access to all
drives and the Network Drives (I wish this feature was available in the OS/2
Version) WITHOUT HAVING TO INSTALL EF Commander on the computer. This is
the first File Manager that I've come across that accesses the computer
without out being installed on the computer. Best one out there for me since
PC Tools and Norton File Commander. Beats Windows Explorer hands and feet
down!!! Nuff said and
HTH...................Tony
