Well I can only speak from my experience with RCN (I am not an employee
;-).  I have had good service, it is just that the price is creeping
steadily upwards.  I started at about ninety a month and now I am double
that.  The only thing I added was the HD TV option.  This is the reason
I am looking into Comcast.
